Flip Bits Not Burgers: re: Hank Williams' How Much Is an Idea Worth, and the Tech Market

  • Hank Williams · 1 year ago
I would definitely agree that a bad founder/CEO/management team can and will ruin a great idea. My main point is that people, I think too often, suggest that the idea part just isnt very important. My point is that the idea part is *really* important, and that the reason the tech market has been sucking is because of lack of good ideas. I would tend to argue that, particularly in the current market, you need both good ideas and good mgmt/execution.

One problem is that many investors think the creator of the item they have invested in is also a qualified CEO this can be a mistake , business exists for profit it has no heart, investor money does not mean success ! Warren Buffet has created profits by buying management teams ! I think an example is Facebook great- idea but all the investment from the outside has not created profit ! Sadly people are playing with Facebook as if it were a Monopoly Game ! I am only using Facebook as an example
like any other venture I would like to see Facebook profitable !

Perservantia omnia vincit, or for the non-Latin inspired, "Genius is 1 percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration." Good ideas with good execution rarely get by with anything less.
